A woman was struck and killed while attempting to cross  a roadway on Orange County’s west side Wednesday, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m., near the intersection of Pine Hills and Silver Star Road.
Bernice Philius, 18, was traveling north on Pine Hills approaching Silver Star Road, when she struck Tonya Williams, 25, who was attempting to cross Pine Hills Road.
Witnesses told troopers that Williams was not in a cross walk or at the intersection. Witnesses also say, she was walking through stopped traffic and walked into the direct path of Philius’ vehicle.
Williams ended up under the Buick Philius was driving and was pronounced dead at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Troopers say, the crash remains under investigation.
