A woman was killed on Monday morning on Interstate 4, after the driver of a dump truck lost control when a tire separated, causing several vehicles to crash.
The crash happened just before 7:00 a.m., near the St. Johns River Bridge in Volusia County.
Troopers said, Franklin Ramirez, the driver of the dump truck was heading eastbound on I-4, in the center lane, when he steered to the left after a tire separated, traveling through the center guard rail.
Logan Cool, 32, the driver of a 2004 Honda, traveling westbound, was killed in the crash, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Another vehicle, a Chevy pickup, also traveling westbound, was sideswiped by the dump truck.
A third vehicle, a 2009 Mitsubushi, heading westbound attempted to take evasion action to avoid hitting the dump truck, but the driver lost control and struck a guard rail.
Ramirez and three passengers who suffered minor injuries were taken to local area hospitals.
Westbound lanes were closed for several hours following the crash, but were re-opened around noon Monday.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation.
