Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said that a woman, critically injured while participating in an International Kick-boxing match on Sunday night, has died.
The woman, identified as Adrienne Simmons, was participating in an event hosted by the International Kick-Boxing Federation (IKF) at the Marriott Orlando World Center at 8701 World Center Drive.
The victim received a left hook which knocked her unconscious during the third round of a three round bout. The fight was stopped and the woman was immediately treated by the IKF chief medical doctor. Subsequently she was admitted to the Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injury.
Simmons was 34-years-old.
No further details have been released by the Sheriff’s Office.
