Woman Charged with Killing Ex-Husband after she Reports him Missing

An Orlando woman who called a 911 dispatcher last October to report her ex-husband missing, was arrested and charged with murder yesterday, Orange County deputies said.

Joy Hochreiter - suspect

37-year-old Joy Hochreiter was taken into custody Monday, after a six-month investigation; she is accused of shooting to death her ex-husband, Christopher Goltry to death on October 6, 2011.

Goltry’s body was found in Jay Blanchard Park woods a day later, with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

Hochreiter called a 911 dispatcher on October 6, 2011, to report Goltry missing. She told the dispatcher she was on the phone with her ex-husband talking for about 30 minutes, then heard a man in the background and yelling and screaming.

“… I then heard a guy with an accent screaming at him and then I heard what sounded like gun shots or fire crackers,” Hochreiter told the dispatcher.

Hochreiter also said her ex-husband should have picked up their daughter from school, but he didn’t show up and it wasn’t like him.

Asked by the 911 dispatcher where her ex-husband was located, Hochreiter said, “I don’t know where he’s at.”

Hochreiter concluded the 911 call by saying, “I am scared because I don’t know what’s wrong. This is not like my ex to ever do this.”

Investigators found Goltry’s body on October 7, 2011, a day after Hochreiter reported him missing.

Hochreiter confessed to being the only person involved in Goltry’s murder, deputies said.
