Woman Arrested for Central Florida Traffic Homicide

A 34-year-old woman was arrested for a Central Florida traffic homicide killing a 30-year-old woman that the Sheriff called “disappointing and heartbreaking.”

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following an investigation into a traffic fatality that occurred on December 19, 2023, on Harney Road in Thonotosassa, near Tampa.

At 8:45pm that evening, deputies responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of Harney Road and Williams Road where they found a woman down in the roadway.

Despite life-saving efforts, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue pronounced 30-year-old Sabrina Rohrback deceased at the scene of the accident. Rohrback had been walking northeast on the paved shoulder of Harney Road when a driver veered off the roadway, into the dirt, ultimately striking and killing Rohrback.

The driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Tamra Warden was arrested on February 5th and charged with DUI Manslaughter, Child Neglect, and DUI Accompanied by Person Under 18. Warden had a three-year-old in the vehicle with her and had a BAC of 0.14, more than .06 over the legal limit.

“This case is disappointing and heartbreaking on so many levels,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “An innocent woman was killed because of someone’s recklessness, and a three-year-old could have been seriously injured. I am proud of the thorough investigation conducted by our detectives and hope that this arrest can bring some source of healing to the family impacted by this tragedy.”

Sheriff Chronister emphasized the importance of designating a sober driver, using taxi or ride-sharing services, and making a plan before drinking.

This investigation is ongoing, according to local law enforcement.
