A woman was recently arrested after a man was killed and found with a gunshot wound to the head in unincorporated Clearwater.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Illinois Road in Clearwater after a 911 caller stated they heard a loud noise and a female state, “I have a gun.” Deputies arrived on scene, where they met with 38-year-old Amanda Tenney.
Deputies observed blood on Amanda’s legs, as well as bloody footprints inside the home. Deputies located the victim, 60-year-old Patrick Denney, deceased on a bedroom floor with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Throughout the course of the Central Florida investigation, detectives learned that Amanda was in a relationship with Patrick, and they were the only ones inside the home at the time of the shooting. Detectives also discovered that Tenney attempted to clean up the crime scene and did not call 911.
Tenney was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Shooting into a Dwelling. Detectives added the charge of Murder in the First-Degree. Amanda Tenney was brought to the Pinellas County Jail.
Next of kin has been notified.
The investigation continues, according to local law enforcement.
