Early this morning, Tamara Deshaun Newell, 19 years old, of Drexel Avenue, Orlando, died following her injuries in a vehicular crash.
Newell who was riding a motorcycle was traveling westbound in the 4900 block of W. Oakridge Road in the inside left turn lane onto Millenia Boulvard.
A freightliner truck, driven by Cory Dale Bell, 41, Aledo,Texas, was also traveling westbound in the 4900 block of W. Oakridge in the outside left turn lane onto Millenia Boulevard.
Newell lost control of her motorcycle, causing it to slide under the trailer portions of the freightliner truck. She was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Newell was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
No alcohol was involved and no other injuries have been reported.
OPD is continuing with its investigation.
