A Winter Park man was killed early on Sunday morning, after being hit by two vehicles while attempting to cross the road, troopers say.
The unnamed man, 50 years, was attempting to cross Aloma Avenue near Eastbrook Boulevard and was in the middle of the block, when he was stuck by a Ford pick, around 4:00 a.m.
Troopers say, after the collision, the driver of the pick-up, 30-year-old Courtney Jones, of Altamonte Springs, stopped in between the inside eastbound lane and the median. That’s when a second vehicle traveling on the inside lane, attempted to change lanes to the outside one, struck the man who was lying in the roadway, a second time.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene by the medical examiner, troopers said.
36-year-old Ronald R. Massey was driving the second vehicle. Both Jones and Massey were unhurt.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
