Amidst the contention negotiations leading up to what is being dubbed the largest and most important UN climate change conference in history which opened today in Copenhagen, Denmark, a Windy Ridge student will get international attention this week.
Eighth-grade student Kira Myers was named a winner in the international Countdown to Copenhagen Students Speak! Contest. It was sponsored by Epals.com and Conservation International. She submitted a claymation video which explains how we can protect our earth. Kira’s video was one of only five videos chosen from the United States. The video will be featured on a DVD that will be shown to world leaders attending the annual conference.
Entries were evaluated for: thoughtful selection of issues, overall effectiveness of delivery, quality of content and creativity and technical quality.
