An Orlando police officer who shot at a female driver attempting to run him over as she left the Roxy Night Club, was taken to hospital early on Wednesday morning.
Investigators said, three women were escorted out of the Roxy Night Club on Bennet Road just after 2:00 a.m., because they had been involved in an altercation. As two of the women walked to their vehicle in the parking lot, the third woman attempted to run them over with her vehicle.
An off-duty Orlando police officer attempted to stop the woman from fleeing the area, but the driver instead, headed for the officer with her car.
According to authorities, the police officer was run over by the vehicle, but not before he opened fire striking the driver.
The police officer and woman were transported to local area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The names of the women nor the police officer have been released.
Members of the OPD Internal Affairs Section, Homicide Unit and Florida Department of Law Enforcement are conducting an investigation.
