A driver stopped at an intersection downtown Orlando on Sunday morning, was likely the victim of a random shooting.

Hugh Williams, 42, told investigators he heard what sounded like fireworks as he was about to pull away from the intersection at Hampton Avenue and Marks Street where he was waiting at a stop sign.

Williams also told police he later heard his back window shatter and felt a sharp pain in his facial area.   He drove himself to Florida Hospital South at 601 E. Rollins Street, for treatment.

It is believed that a modified pickup truck was parked in the area with its lights turned off, at the time of the shooting.  The make and model of the truck are unknown.

The shooting happened just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to call Crimeline at # 1-800-423-TIPS.  Callers may be eligible for a reward.
