An Ocala woman shot her husband to death because she suspected he was having an affair.
53-year-old Sylvia Puig has been charged with the death of her husband Victor Puig, Ocala Police said.
Investigators said, Mrs. Puig shot her husband as he was lying in bed, just before mid-night on Wednesday. When cops arrived at the couple’s house at 1240 SE. 19th Street, 52-year-old Victor Puig was still alive with a gunshot wound to the face. He was rushed to a local area hospital but later succumbed to his wound on Thursday, March 17.
Mrs. Puig suspected her husband of having an affair and this could have led to the shooting, investigators said.
Detectives discovered a 9mm handgun inside the residence which is believed to the the murder weapon.
Sylvia Puig is being held at the Marion County Jail without bond.
