Hundreds of students attended the White Out event at Mt. Dora High School on Wednesday. The event is an annual one, aimed at reminding students to drive safely.
The Mayor of Mount Dora, Mt. Dora Fire and Police Department, Lake-Sumpter EMS, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, AAA, State Farm, safe school coordinator and numerous educators attended the educational event.
In 2009, 154 teems died in crashes in Florida. This means that 153 teens did not graduate, go to college, start a career or build a family.
Besides, another 19,000 were injured and 284 people died in a crash where a teen was driving.
