At the Orange County School Board meeting Tuesday, the board hosted Northrop Grumman, L3 Communications, and soon-to-be Wekiva High School graduates Nick DiRocco and Emily Maddox for recognition.

The two students made history by becoming the first to graduate from Valencia College prior to their graduation from Wekiva High School’s Laser Photonics Academy. Both students will go on to college to finish degrees in engineering.

Northrop Grumman surprised the board and Superintendent Barbara Jenkins when they awarded Nick DiRocco a $10,000 Engineering Scholars Program Scholarship.
