Logo OCPSWHAT:

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the Wekiva High School Laser Photonics Career Academy, a partnership between Orange County Schools, Valencia Community College, and Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Laser Systems business unit.

Established in August 2009 to address of shortage of laser photonics technicians in the Central Florida area, this career program offers high school students 47 college credits if they take the program for four years.  The academy is open to students at Wekiva High School who maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average and will prepare them for a career in laser photonics.
