Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Pensacola, Florida on Tuesday, to survey the ongoing response to the BP oil gusher. During the trip, the Vice President will also visit New Orleans, Louisiana.
Biden will be joined in Pensacola by National Incident Commander Admiral Thad Allen, NOAA Administrator Dr. Jane Lubchenco and Governor Charlie Crist. At 4:30 PM CT, the Vice President will visit Naval Air Station Pensacola and make a statement to the press.
Earlier in the day, Biden will visit the Unified Area Command in New Orleans, Louisiana where he will receive briefings on response efforts and tour the facility.
The Vice President will be joined by National Incident Commander Admiral Thad Allen, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, NOAA Administrator Dr. Jane Lubchenco and Governor Bobby Jindal.
At 12:00 PM CT, the Vice President will visit Pomes Seafood, where he will meet with gulf residents impacted by the spill and make a statement to the press.
Biden will travel to Pensacola in the afternoon.
