Vice President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will be in Orlando Friday, to deliver remarks at the Florida Education Association’s 2011 Delegate Assembly meeting.
The event will take place at the Rosen Centre Hotel on International Drive.
VP Biden earlier this month created a firestorm when he suggested if Congress didn’t pass President Obama’s latest jobs plan, crimes like rape and murder will increase significantly, as cops are laid off. He made these comments while speaking in Flint, Michigan on October 12.
Politifact.com, who checked the statistics cited by Biden, ruled his claim as “Half True.” The group found evidence that, as Flint’s police force was reduced, the number of murders increased, while rapes actually declined.
Politifact.com also said, experts with whom they spoke, suggested that the size of a police force does have some bearing on crime, but it is only one of several factors.
