Volunteer Build Guild to help Increase Accessibility for People with Disabilities

The Center for Independent Living in Central Florida (CIL) is seeking volunteers to form a Build Guild to support its wheelchair ramp building event, RAMPAGE.  Build Guild members will be a special type of volunteer who wants to take their involvement to a new level.  These extraordinary volunteers will have a passion for making homes and communities more accessible and will be dedicated to providing greater independence to people with disabilities.  Build Guild members will plan creative and fun ways to organize and recruit community support for RAMPAGE.

CIL’s Development Specialist Amber Finkbeiner says, “RAMPAGE and the new Build Guild of volunteers is all about individuals taking an active role in keeping people with disabilities independent in their own homes.  Build Guild volunteers will focus their efforts on recruiting community support for people who are living in a home that is not currently wheelchair accessible.”

The Center for Independent Living in Central Florida, Inc. is a private, non-residential, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities achieve their self-determined goals for independent living. CIL offers a number of services to assist people with disabilities including employment, housing, education, advocacy and much more.

To get started on the Build Guild contact Amber Finkbeiner at 407- 623-1070 or by email at [email protected]
