An Orlando man who stole a tractor-trailer load of soup appeared before a Broward County judge on Monday.
51-year-old Eusebio Diaz Acosta stole a tractor-trailer filled with soup valued at $75,000, nbcmiami.com reported.
Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley, who set bond at $25,000, told Diaz Acosta that the facts surrounded the theft were “very unusual.”
“This Court has seen many things stolen, but this is the first time the Court has ever seen $75,000 worth of soup stolen,” said Hurley.
The total value of the soup and trailer amounted to $350,000.
Diaz Acosta is being held in the Broward County Main Jail, the news site also reported.
