Troopers have identified a person of interest and the vehicle they believe struck and killed a 14-year-old girl in a hit-and-run crash last Saturday night.
Julianne Hobbs, of Deland, was struck and killed as she walked along Spring Garden Avenue near Jeannette Drive. 14-year-old Rachael Russell who was walking with Julianne sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Troopers said Tuesday, a Gold 2004 Toyota Corolla has been sent to the FDLE Lab for processing, after the 49-year-old female owner contacted FHP.
The owner of the vehicle is a person of interest, troopers said.
The driver of the vehicle on the night Julianne was killed, has not yet been identified, FHP also said.
The name of the person of interest has not been released.
