An Assistant Special Agent at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the lead investigator on the Interstate 75 up in Alachua County that killed 11 people, had his personal vehicle vandalized.
Tires were slashed on the personal vehicle of Orlando Assistant in Charge Danny Banks while parked at his home on Thursday. Under the windshield wiper of the vehicle was stuffed the front page of the FDLE Interstate-75 crash report, with cross-hairs penciled over the printed FDLE badge.
Banks led the investigation into that fatal January crash on Interstate-75 that killed 11 people. Although the report provided a scathing indictment of Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) on that smog/fog filled morning, the review concluded that no one acted “with criminal intent.”
FDLE is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals(s) who vandalized Assistant Special Agent Banks’ personal vehicle.
FDLE and local law enforcement are investigating the incident.
