The team at Student Loan Hero just compared costs at over 1,700 U.S. colleges to federal student loan borrowing limits to find out where the biggest and smallest gaps are. Their report reveals where rising college costs are outpacing federal student loan limits – and where college costs are more manageable for students, including locally at Valencia College.
Some of the findings include:
- Only 1.5% (27 colleges) have costs that dependent freshmen can cover entirely with federal loans
- At 70% of U.S. colleges, tuition and fees are higher than undergrad loan limits
- After maxing out loans, undergraduates’ remaining tuition and fees are between $11,000 and $18,000
You can check out the full report, including the list of all 27 colleges where costs are less than financial aid, here: Undergrad Loan Limits.
