Did you know that Valencia College here in Orlando is one of just 27 schools nationwide where federal student aid is enough to cover the cost?
The team at Student Loan Hero just compared costs at over 1,700 U.S. colleges to federal student loan borrowing limits to find out where the biggest and smallest gaps are. Some of the findings include:
- Only 1.5% (27 colleges) have costs that dependent freshmen can cover entirely with federal loans
- At 70% of U.S. colleges, tuition and fees are higher than undergrad loan limits
- After maxing out loans, undergraduates’ remaining tuition and fees are between $11,000 and $18,000
