Val Demings First to Qualify By Petition in Florida’s 10th Congressional District Race

ValPetitionsChief Val Demings’ campaign announced today she is the first candidate in Florida’s 10th Congressional District Race to qualify to run by petition.

The campaign was able to gather the petitions through an organized volunteer effort. The majority of the 2,298 petitions required to qualify came from Orange County voters. According to the campaign, individuals representing over 40 counties across the state signed petitions for Chief Demings, showing her broad base of support.

“I’m so grateful for all of the people who helped us get to this point,” said Chief Val Demings. “The support we have seen surrounding our campaign, from our dedicated volunteers to the community members we’ve met throughout Central Florida, has been overwhelming and we couldn’t be more excited aboutthe growing momentum as we push towards August 30th.”

Demings is running against State Senator Geraldine Thompson, Bob Poe and Fatima Fahmy in a crowded Democratic primary for the congressional seat.
