Update: Remains found in Putnam County identified as missing 2-year-old

The remains of a 2-year-old child who went missing have been found in Putnam County, Sanford police said.

The child’s body was found in a shallow grave in Crescent City. A suitcase which investigators believe was used to transport the toddler’s body to Crescent City was found near by.

Police have identified the toddler as Tariji Gordon.

Meanwhile, Tariji’s mother, Rachel Fryer, 32, was arrested on Monday and charged with aggravated abuse.

Last week-end, the Florida Department of Children and Families went to a home in the 1300 block Oleander Avenue to conduct a welfare check.  There they found three of Fyer’s children, but 2-year-old Tariji was missing.  

Police are still searching for  Fryer’s boyfriend, Timothy Gordon, as they believe he could have information vital to this case.

Fryer is being held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, on a $950,000 bond.
