The University of Central Florida (UCF) ranks among the top 100 graduate schools in several disciplines, including education, engineering, healthcare management, nursing and social work, according to the U.S. News Media Group which released its 2012 Best Graduate Schools rankings on Tuesday.
Regarding the “Best Education Schools”, UCF ranks #91 overall and has one of the 12 best graduate level counseling programs in the nation.
In the area of criminal justice and legal studies, UCF ranks #26; health and public affairs, #46; and in nursing, #79. In the social work area, according to U.S. News Media Group, UCF places #95 and in communicative disorders, ranks #87. In the engineering field, UCF receives a rank of #70 in terms of “Best Engineering Schools”.
Other universities throughout Florida also rank highly.
The University of Florida’s school of education and particularly its student counseling and personnel services, is ranked #2 in the nation, while its special education program places #4.
Overall, in relation to the “Best Education Schools”, Florida State University in Tallahassee ranks #43 in the U.S.; University of Florida and University of Miami both rank #52 and the University of South Florida in Tampa ranks #73. The University of Florida is ranked #30 among the list of 100 “Best Engineering Schools” in the U.S.
