The driver of a Ford van and her 87-year-old female passenger were killed on the Florida Turnpike on Sunday, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened just after 1:00 p.m., near mile marker 210, in Osceola County.
Troopers said, the 49-year-old woman who was traveling southbound, for an unknown reason, lost control of the 2005 Ford van and traveled into the median. The vehicle struck a guard rail and overturned into the northbound lanes.
The driver, who was ejected from the van, was pronounced dead on the scene by the medical examiner.
An 87-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at Holmes Regional Hospital.
Troopers have not released the identity of the victims, pending notification of next of kin. Â Both women are from Georgia.
The crash remains under investigation.
