Boone High School principal Margaret McMillen and Mollie Ray Elementary School principal Kathryn Shuler will advance to the next level in the 2010 Just Read, Florida! awards.
The Just Read, Florida! office in the state Department of Education promotes literacy and awards educators who are committed to the same. Principals McMillen and Shuler have demonstrated to the state that they are committed to excellence in literacy education at their schools. They both are one of two regional finalists for their categories in Region 3.
They join Superintendent Ronald Blocker who was announced as one of two regional finalists for Region 3 in February. Superintendent Blocker’s category is Reading Leader of the Year.
