Two Away

LeBron James led the Miami Heat with 29 points and 14 rebounds in a 91-85 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in game three of the NBA Finals.

The Heat lead the series 2-1 with two more games in Miami.

James and the Heat got to the basket at will early on.

“We are just in attack mode,” James said. “It’s just our mentality.”

It’s a good thing Miami got to the rim because they only shot 16% from outside the paint on Sunday night.

“It’s ugly but we will take it,” Heat coach Eric Spolstra said.

Dwayne Wade finished with 25 points 7 rebounds and 7 assists followed by Chris Bosh’s 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Bosh is clearly not in an offensive rhythm but his ability to demand attention and his spacing on the offensive end has been key for Wade and James attacking the basket.

Last year Miami was up 2-1 over the Dallas Mavericks before losing three straight and watched Dallas celebrate a championship on their home floor.

“It’s definitely something we talk about, it’s a pain we haven’t forgotten.” Bosh said.

Oklahoma pushed their third quarter lead to ten after a four point play by Derek Fisher but back to back fouls on three point shots Miami pulled within four.

Kevin Durant finished with 25 points and the Thunder only scored 18 points in the fourth, again not capitalizing on a game they could have won.

“It was frustrating,” Durant said. “Of course we had a good lead and they came back and made some shots.”

The Heat used two key runs in the second half, an 18-3 run in the third and an 8-0 run in the fourth to close out the young Thunder.

Game four is in Miami Tuesday night, tip off set for 9pm.
