A two-alarm fire blazed through a Central Florida two-story, multi-family apartment.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a two-alarm fire on Clocktower Drive in Brandon, near Tampa. At 2:47pm, 911 calls flooded the local dispatch center from callers reporting fire through the roof of the two-story apartment.
The first arriving unit reported flames through the roof of the multi-family residential structure. Local firefighters initiated an attack, quickly transitioning to aerial operations.
Officials said the blaze was under control in 45 minutes.
Two firefighters were treated on the scene for heat exhaustion, but they did not require transport. No civilians were injured.
Crews searched all 16 affected units and rescued a dog and a cat, both of which were reunited with their owners.
Local fire investigations unit is investigating the fire’s origin. The American Red Cross was called to assist the displaced residents.
