‘Twas the night before Election Day, and all thru the hood,
Not a democrat was stirring, when they knew that they should.
Long taken for granted, dismissed and disposed,
Blacks weren’t Hispanic they’d get no new clothes.
Seduced by Obama, his hope and his change,
They came out in droves, they stood in the rain,
To vote for a man who looked just like them.
But then offered nothing, he wasn’t a friend.
He’d fought for gay rights and immigration reform.
He’d fight for new gun laws, a new day was born.
But back in the hood, there was nothing to say,
Just neglect and rejection and urban decay.
The Tea Party rednecks, their hatred intense,
Would foam at the mouth their logic was bent.
As foreclosure madness swept thru the land,
Bankers were bailed out ’cause this was their man.
Yet back in the hood things only got worse,
With black unemployment the in-your-face curse.
He dismissed black worries, he said don’t complain,
Stop whining, you’ve only yourselves to blame.
And they went along. And in 2012,
Returned him to office while mired in hell.
He offered them nothing, just more of the same.
Not even a thank you and without any shame.
And just like that, black voters were dismissed.
Nobody called them, their media dissed.
No black consultants, no media buys.
Just pimping black votes, while telling the lies.
Just vote for the Dems and keep your mouths closed.
We need the Hispanics ’cause everyone knows,
That they are the future and we need them more,
And black aspirations must wait at the door.
But now it’s the midterms and blacks were neglected.
And Dems are in trouble and won’t be elected.
They spent all their cash and went with Hispanics.
They dismissed the blacks and offered semantics.
On 2014 they’ll look back and say,
What were we thinking and oh what a day.
But back in the hood where nothing will change,
Black voters will show Dems their folly and shame.
