T&T Businessmen to Face Airport Fraud Charges in US

Two local businessmen in Trinidad and Tobago will be extradited to the U.S. to face fraud and corruption charges in connection with the construction of the $1.6 billion airport terminal at Piarco.

cnbc.com: In a ruling made public over the weekend, Trinidad and Tobago Attorney General Anand Ramlogan said Ishwar Galbaransingh and Steve Ferguson should be tried in the United States on multiple charges, including money laundering, against them.

In 2006, a grand jury in Florida indicted Galbaransingh, Ferguson and six U.S. businessmen for alleged corrupt practices concerning airport terminal construction contracts in the Caribbean oil and gas producer.
