An Indiatlantic man who killed a pedestrian in Brevard County, one week ago and fled the scene of the accident, is now behind bars, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Allen S. McCollom, 60, struck and killed 48-year-old Joyce A. Reagan-Cote on Friday, 18, after she stepped into the path of his vehicle traveling southbound on SR AIA and Pine Tree Drive. The accident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. Reagan-Cote was taken to Holmes Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, McCollom fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Working off of a tip, troopers retrieved McCollom’s vehicle on February 19.
McCollum was arrested on February 23. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death. He was booked into the Brevard County Jail.
