Tiger Woods will be a no show at his own tournament later this week because of the injuries that he sustained when he crashed his car into a hydrant and then a tree, early Friday morning.

Woods was scheduled to play in the Chevron World Challenge golf tournament in Thousand Oaks, California, beginning on Thursday.

The world’s top golfer had issued a statement which appeared on his website yesterday, indicating that he had sustained some injuries–cuts, bruising and that he was sore, following his single-car accident.

Woods’ statement however, has done little to quell the speculation that surrounding his early morning car crash a few feet from his drive way, the heroic efforts of his wife, Elin, to get him extricated from the vehicle, along with the smashed glass window of his SUV Escalade that he was driving.

Meanwhile, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) state troopers have failed three times to get an interview with Woods to learn the details of his car crash.  On each occasion when they have showed up as Woods’ $2.4 million dollar home in the exclusive Isleworth community, near Orlando, they have been turned away.

Over 100 media crews, reporters and satellite trucks have been staked out  for several days on the road leading into the gated Isleworth compound where Woods’ car accident took place and where he has been holed up since the accident.      It is highly unlikely that they would catch a glimpse of Woods or his wife today.

It is not clear if state troopers will return to Woods’ mansion for a statement or whether the investigation would be quietly closed.
