The mayors of Orlando, Winter Park and Belle Isle today endorsed Bill Segal, Orange County commissioner and candidate in the race for mayor of Orange County.
In endorsing Segal, Mayor Buddy Dyer of Orlando said that, “Bill Segal has a long track record of creating successful businesses. I know that makes him the most qualified in the race to help bring new jobs to Central Florida.”
Ken Bradley, Mayor of Winter Park added “Bill Segal was born and raised in Orange County and I’m proud to support him. He has shown over and over he is a knowledgeable manager. I know he will be able to sensibly cut the cost and size of county government.”
“As a businessman, Bill Segal had to manage his budget and make his payroll. That’s the kind of fiscal experience and responsibility we need in the next Orange County Mayor,” Belle Isle Mayor Bill Brooks said, in endorsing Segal.
In an exclusive interview with West Orlando News recently, Segal stated that his goals for being the Orange County Mayor are “getting jobs, recruiting good employers to come to this area and keeping the employers we have happy, and making sure they know how much we value them here.” Segal added, “We have four, five major industries. I expect to have, as Mayor, experts in all those industries and will be working hard to recruit people from all over the world.”
Segal is in a five-way race with Commissioner Linda Stewart (District 4), Commissioner Mildred Fernandez (District 3), businessman Matthew Falconer and former Orange County Commissioner Theresa Jacobs.
