On Saturday, December 1st, three festive parades will be held in Orange County. These are:
The 60th Annual Winter Park “Ye Olde Hometown” Christmas Parade will kick off at 9:00 a.m. on Park Avenue, downtown Winter Park. Hosted by the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, this year’s honorary grand marshal is U.S. Congressman John Mica. The parade will travel down Park Avenue starting at Cole Avenue and proceed south to Comstock Avenue. More than 100 units will participate including marching bands, local police and fire departments, scouting groups, local dignitaries and, of course, Santa Claus.
Next is the City of Winter Garden Christmas Parade, a long-standing tradition. To bring in the holiday cheer, the Winter Garden Christmas Parade will take off from South Dillard Street and West Plant Street at 10:00 a.m. Parade organizers are advising spectators to “bring a law chair or blanket and head to your favorite spot… and to look for the Big Guy himself at the end of the parade.”
And not to be outdone, residents and visitors could catch the Ocoee Christmas Parade tomorrow, Saturday, December 1st. Presented by the Ocoee Lions Club in conjunction with the City of Ocoee, the Ocoee Christmas Parade starts at the intersections of Enterprise Street and Maguire Road at 1:00 p.m. The parade will conclude at Municipal Lakefront Park at Ocoee City Hall.
If you miss these events, be sure to catch the Orlando Citrus Parade on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 10 a.m.
