Thousands are expected to gather for a peaceful “Occupy Orlando” march at the Senator Beth Johnson Park near the Orlando Chamber of Commerce downtown Orlando Saturday morning.

The Occupation of Orlando is just one of many movements sweeping the country protesting the corporate greed and corruption of the 1% who caused the global financial meltdown, leaving 99 percent without jobs, homes and having to choose between groceries and rent.

The “Occupy Orlando” protest will hold an open forum at 9:00 a.m., where participants will share their stories and underscore why they support the movement.

At 11:30 a.m., “Occupy Orlando” will march in a circular route from Beth Johnson park along Orange Avenue, South Street and Garland Avenue, then back to the park. Several stops will be made along the route at Bank of America, Valencia College, City of Orlando and Lynx Transportation.

According to the group, a General Assembly will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Senator Beth Johnson park.

An “Occupy Orlando” informational sheet said, the movement has nothing to do with “right or left, conservative or liberal, republican or democrat. This has nothing to do with politics as you know them.”
