A man who admitted to wanting to die by the hands of a cop and set off to stab an Orlando police officer early on Wednesday, has been taken into custody.
Jack Anthony Leblanc, 52, has been charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, among other charges.
Investigators say, a man, later identified as Leblanc turned up at the Lake Nona Police substation located at 10727 Narcoossee Road around 8:30 a.m.
Leblanc, who was greeted by an Orlando police officer after knocking on the door, forced his way into the substation wielding a knife. Â He attempted to stab the officer in the neck, investigators also say.
After the police officer screamed for help, Sergeant D. Bigelow deployed her taser and Leblanc was subdued and taken into custody.
Leblanc admitted he left his home to go to the substation because he planned to be killed by police officers, as he no longer wanted to live.
The police officer suffered minor injuries; Leblanc was not hurt.
Leblanc faces several counts, including attempted first degree murder with a weapon on a law enforcement officer, armed burglary of a dwelling with a dangerous weapon, resisting an officer with violence and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon. Â He was booked into the Orange County Jail.
