Four high school football state championships are on the line this weekend as Orlando welcomes the FHSAA Football Finals for the 6th year in row. The state’s smaller classifications (1A, 2A, 3A and 4A) will play at the Florida Citrus Bowl this Friday and Saturday. The larger classifications (5A-8A) are scheduled for next weekend (December 14 and 15). The Central Florida Sports Commission, the City of Orlando, Edgewater High School and Orange County Public Schools are the co-hosts for the state finals.
“The FHSAA Football Finals have become one of our community’s great annual sports traditions,” said Central Florida Sports Commission President & CEO John Bisignano. “Florida is the home of the nation’s best high school players and teams. This is Central Florida’s chance to see them in our own backyard.”
