For some seniors in the Orlando area, August 1st will be a good day, as it heralds the coming of a statewide Medicaid managed-care system in Florida.
The state Agency for Health Care Administration recently held a contract-signing ceremony with seven health plans that eventually will provide long-term care services to about 85,000 people across the state. That is the first part of a long-debated Medicaid transformation that also will later include the broader Medicaid population, the Florida Courier reports.
