Given all the talk of how unaffordable major American cities have become, the team at PropertyClub wanted to see which cities recorded the highest jumps in rents in the past decade. Using Zillow rent data and Census population numbers, we took the 100 most populous U.S. cities and ranked them according to the percentage change in median rents from 2010 to 2019.
Orlando recorded a 39% growth and went from boasting a median rent of $1,012 in 2010 to $1,409 in 2019, making it the city with the 9th highest jump in rent prices in the past 10 years.
