It looks like Orange County Mayor, Teresa Jacobs is having her ass handed to her courtesy of her fellow Republicans in Tallahassee, in their bid to forceably remove her from the Board of the Expressway Authority.
According to reports, fellow Republican, Rep. Mike Horner (District 79) filed an amendment Wednesday to a transportation bill, which would remove Jacobs from the Board, apparently to punish her for her views on the Expressway Authority, one of Central Florida’s most notoriously secretive agencies.  Like roaches who scamper at the sight of sunshine, the Authority wants to continue operating as a secret cabal, benefiting themselves and neglecting Central Florida residents.
Horner too, is not alone, he has support from another Tallahassee insider and local politician, Rep. Chris Dorworth (District 34), who is likely to be the new House Speaker.
As the story goes, Jacobs, who has been known for her good governance, last week, urged tougher ethics rules prior to the Expressway Authority voting on an agreement to build the Wekiva Parkway. It is said, she cautioned a board member, Scott Batterson, not to vote on the Parkway, given that it would hugely benefit his former boss, Jim Palmer, who plans a major development along the toll road.
There are news reports too, that Jacobs asked Palmer to donate land to the Parkway, but she was rebuffed.
Now, Jacobs, who wants to stand up for ethics and what’s right for Orange County residents, is in deep crap with her own nasty, selfish, vicious Republicans, who are hell bent on destroying this County and this State.
Is anyone surprised at this turn of events?
