Teen Killed in Single Vehicle Crash, Driver Critical

A single vehicle car crash on Town Center Boulevard on Sunday night left a teenager dead and the driver in critical condition, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred on Town Center Boulevard near Crompton Drive in Orange County, just after 7:00 p.m.

18-year-old Angelica Quintero of Orlando, a passenger in a 1992 Toyota Tercel driven by 21-year-old Bryan Garcia, died when the vehicle veered to the left, entered the median and struck a tree. Quintero was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital in Kissimmee.

Garcia was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Two other passengers in the car, 22-year-old Karen Garcia and 27-year-old Jonathan Flanagan, both of Orlando, were taken to ORMC with serious injuries.

It is not clear what caused Garcia to enter the median, but toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether alcohol played a role in the crash, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
