One of two teen girls who suffered serious injuries in a crash one week ago on State Road 46 near Sanford, has died.
15-year-old Xiomara Munoz, of Winter Springs, died at the Arnold Palmer Hospital yesterday, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said, Munoz and Thalia Cruz, 14, walked into the direct path of a Ford vehicle driven by 26-year-old Edward Coffie II, of Sorrento.
Although Coffie was ticketed for an expired tag and unknowingly driving on a suspended license, troopers said, he was not at fault in the crash.
The girls were standing on the south side of State Road waiting to cross the road, then proceeded to walk into the direct path of the vehicle when the light turned red for eastbound traffic, but remained green for the westbound lanes.
Coffie was heading westbound on State Road 46 around 9:30 p.m., on March 31, when the front of the Ford hit the girls.

It’s crazy, Xiomara was one of my good friends. When I heard about this news I started balling uncontrollably. And seeing her at the hospital was worst. When I found out she had died friday, omg. Her mom had announced her death, at the candle lighting we had made for her at our high school. Life’s to short, and every day I wish I could have taken xiomara’s place. But may she rest in Paradise like the angel she is. On Easter, she’s an organ doner, and on easter, she had saved 4 kids’ lives. Even in death, she still remains helping others. We miss you beautiful. see you soon. love you & everyone pray for our baby Thalia.
First of all I would like to say R.I.P XIOMARA. You will be greatley missed . My hopes and prayers go out to you and our famill. Now as americans we need to stop this . If ou know your car is jacked up dont go ridin it and if you dont know check at least ever two months and where your SEATBELT. Becuase now Xiomara is dead and her friends and famil have to deaal with that. Im not choosing sides but, I will say one thing JUSTICE needs to be served FAIRLY.I go to Indian Trails Middle. And it seems like everybody knew her. Everbodys grieving. So I just want say thank ou to our teachers and staff for letting us represent Xiomara and her death in our own way. Xiomara your a gorgeous young lady and may u rest in peace i love you…….. I love thalia sooo much and i miss her sooo much when the days go by it gets lonelyer shes a true fighter and i want her to know i love her till the end of time stay strong and i cant wait till see you at school next year and xiomara i will see you one day

Xiomara was amazing. everyone cared about her. We will miss her forever <3 i had just moved when thishappenedand to hear a good friend passed killed me. I release 200 ballons on her ballon release even though i wasnt in florida she was a good friend and i did the candle light and the ballon release
