Police arrested one of two suspects in the attempted robbery and shooting of a Jimmy John’s driver on Monday.

17-year-old Leroy Brown III, was taken into custody, just after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Orlando police say, Brown and a second suspect, who has been named, attempted to rob and shoot a Jimmy John’s driver after he made a delivery at the City West Apartment complex located at 1801 S. Kirkman Road.

Brown and the second suspect flagged the driver down and at one point, one of the them pointed a gun at him.  The driver sped away as a shot rang out, but suffered a non-life threatening injury.

Police quickly released video footage of the suspects entering a nearby Walmart and say, Brown’s speedy arrest was due to the airing of the video clips.

Brown has been charged with attempted robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.  He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center, police said.

The name of the second suspect is not being released in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.
