A passenger in a cab was killed early this morning on State Road 528, after a dump truck collided with the rear of the taxi, Florida Highway Patrol said.
55-year-old Claude Altidor, of Orlando, was killed when a 2007 dump truck, driven by 49-year-old Edwin Canales of Kissimmee collided with the cab in which he was traveling on State Road 528 at mile marker 9.
Altidor was killed on the spot.
The driver of the 2001 Ford cab, 39-year-old Fleurinat Estephere, of Orlando, was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
Canales sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
