On Sunday, Tavares police arrested Sharon Wolfe, the wife of Mayor Robert Wolfe, charging her with drunk driving and leaving the scene of a crash.
According to reports, Wolfe’s car struck a speed limit sign on Orange Avenue and the car sped off following the crash.
MyFoxOrlando reports that Wolfe drove to a hospital in the vicinity where police found her passed out.
Police say that she was unable to walk in a straight line and hold one foot in the air, reports MyFoxOrlando. Prescription drugs, Kahlua and Bailey’s Irish Cream were found inside Wolfe’s car, police say.
Wolfe told officers that she had taken Ambien, Adderal and was drinking coffee with Kahlua. She was booked and released from the Lake County Jail after posting bond.
