Tampa Police Identify Victim in Recent Deadly Shooting

The Tampa Police Department continues to investigate a deadly shooting that injured multiple people on E 28th Ave last month and identified a victim.




The victims were all taken to the hospital where Jessie Dorce later died from his injuries. One victim remains hospitalized in stable condition, the other two victims have since been released, according to Tampa Police.

Shortly before 12:40pm on February 18th, officers received a call for shots heard in the area of 2600 E 28th Ave. When officers arrived, they initially located three victims, however, a fourth victim was later identified as being injured related to the shooting. Four males, in their late 20s and early 30s, were taken to the hospital where one was later pronounced deceased, the other three were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

While early in the investigation, detectives believe this shooting was targeted, and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
