Suspicious Package Leads to Store Closures in Kissimmee

A suspicious package left inside a supermarket on Sunday, led Kissimmee police to evacuate the store, along with neighboring shops.

Police said, a backpack was left at the Publix supermarket on 1910 North John Parkway in Kissimmee and as a precaution, the Orlando Bomb Squad was called in.

As it turned out, while waiting for the Bomb Squad to arrive, the owner of the backpack returned to the store to retrieve it.  After questioning the owner, police determined the packpack was inadvertantly left at the Publix supermarket.

The Bomb Squad was cancelled and stores are being re-opened, police said.
