A suspicious package left at the Marriott World Center hotel at World Center Drive just after 3:00 pm, on Tuesday, is safe.
Orange County Sheriff’s Hazardous Device Unit rendered the suspicious safe and examined the contents around 6:00 pm.
Deputies determined that the box contained what appeared to be miniature promotional basketballs, although the intended recipient has not yet been identified.
Earlier, hotel employees reported what they perceived to be a suspicious package at the hotel loading dock. Deputies secured the location evacuated employees working in and around the loading dock.
Deputies said, traffic flow around the Marriott, which was snarled during the operation, is now returning to normal.
